What: The positions and postures are influenced by ballet however this is no dance class and no formal dance experience is required! The barre method activates both the large and small (stabilizer) muscles. You will be moving through sequences of moves and exercises specifically designed to strengthen, sculpt and fatigue muscle with small weights and even smaller movements all done to the beat of the music! Don't be surprised if your muscles start to shake and you get a good sweat glisten during this FULL BODY workout!
Instructor: My name is Alyssa and I have a background in competitive figure skating and ballet with a love and education in Group Fitness Training (specializing in barre & spin) and have worked in the industry for over a decade! I will help you focus on form and postural alignment through out every movement to give a high quality, safe, effective and FUN workout! You will see improvements not only in muscle tone, but everyday posture as well!
Equipment: In each energizing and targeted workout, you'll use the barre, small hand weights, resistance bands, sliders, squishy balls and your own body weight to strengthen, sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body!
What to Bring: Please bring a yoga mat and wear grip socks (optional, but recommended!)
'the movements may be but little, they are fierce'
COVID-19 Response: In line with AHS recommendations participants will remain 6ft apart at the barre and when at center floor. There will be visible markings for participants at each station. No equipment will be shared between participants and disinfecting of equipment and barre will be done after each class.
There will also be a QR code on the door that all participants entering the building will need to scan for contact tracing purposes.
