Where: St.Paul Ukrainian Dance Studio - 55 st - 51 ave (backside of Westbrook Mall)
What: Barre classes mix elements of functional training, cardio, ballet positions and pilates. The barre format activates both the large and small (stabilizer) muscles through out the entire hour and is undoubtably one the MOST effective strengthening & sculpting methods for the ENTIRE body while remaining low impact to protect and strengthen joints!
With focus being on form and postural alignment through out every movement, you’ll see improvements not only in muscle tone but everyday posture as well!
The principle and positions are influenced by ballet however this is no dance class and no need for any sort of dance training is required! Barre fitness has you moving through sequences of moves and exercises specifically designed to strengthen, sculpt and fatigue muscle with small weights and even smaller movements all done to the beat of the music. Add in a few fat-blasting cardio segments and some stretching that will give you the full sculpting, burning and lengthening advantages of barre!
In each energizing and targeted workout, you'll use the barre and exercise equipment such as small hand weights, resistance bands and your own body weight to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body. Don't be surprised if things start to burn and shake!
Majority of the workout is low-impact with exception of the cardio segments, however these can be modified to stick to your low-impact needs!
What to Bring: Please bring water, yoga mat and wear grip socks (optional, but recommended!)
COVID-19 Response: In line with AHS recommendations participants will remain 6ft apart at the barre and when at center floor. There will be visible markings for participants at each station. No equipment will be shared between participants and disinfecting of equipment and barre will be done after each class
